Dog Tags – Korean Shoulder Tabs E&c For William A. Gladstone. REFERENCE BOOK NOT INCLUDED
William Gladstone was a major collector, author and historian of Afro-American Military items who’s collection now resides in the collection of the Library of Congress.
He was an author of several booked devoted to the subject of Black Americans in the U.S. Military, etc. A constant show goer, and a good friend of Mike McAfee, who obtained these items from Bill directly, and came out of the former’s collection just a few years ago now.
Included are Gladstones, dog tags (Tetanus dated 1951), on chain, with a P-38 can opener (probably the most used personal item in the field by G.I.s; 2 Korean war era Korea Shoulder tabs, and a JUSMAG -K (Joint U.S. Military Advisory Group – Korea badge (2 1/8″ high, missing pins for clutches).
A nice group to have from a fellow collector and historian, as well as a Korean War veteran.
