Dug Relic Lead Seals From the 18th Century- Western Massachusetts,
The larger lead seal is broken when the crate or box was opened. The other smaller one is a small folded over lead seal with company stamping (undetermined). Seals in this era were placed on item being shipped to show if the item had been tampered with. The smaller one was most likely used on a bolt of fabric, or cloth.
This are from a recent dig site in Western Massachusetts.
The largest seal has an 1 1/4 inches diameter.
Very good condition.
