Sheet music in chromo-litho cover. published by Root & Cady, Chicago.
This colorful colored sheet music was published in Chicago, by Root and Cady, and sold by Edward Hopkins Music, Troy, New York (in a blind stamp in upper right corner. Entitled “To / Capt. Lucius Slade / National Lancers, Boston.” “Ellsworth Zouaves’ And National Lancers’ / GREETING / GRAND MARCH / Composed By / Adolph Baumbach, ”
The Illustration has both units in their finery, and weapons; and appears to be a piece of music produced at the beginning of the Civil War.
A complete piece of sheet music, but condition is rough, with chipped and torn edges, soiling and light stains. The color and subject matter are really very nice, and if matted properly, would have a great look. I have included some other printed material from the period relating to the National Lancers, from Gleason’s Pictorial Drawing Room Companion.
