Italian Made Souvenir- 23rd General Hospital – SOLD

Description

This one sided banner made of silk, and bullion lettering was made in Italy during WWII, for someone assigned to the 23rd General Hospital, Naples, Italy. The size is 11 x 15 approximately.  The unit motto, “ALWAYS READY” is applied to the white silk backing as are the other pieces (red cross, and GEN. HOSP.)

Great color and condition, with just the lightest amount of soiling on the back.

The 23rd General Hospital served in several places, mostly in Italy and France from what I can find on them.

Nice example of Theatre made goods brought home by GI’s from the war.
