Description
M1874 Light Artillery Saber Belt, using the pattern 1890 waist belt. & 1872 Hagner US Belt Plate.
This Pattern 1874 Light Artillery Saber Belt, has the attached slings for mounting the 1840 Light Artillery Saber. The forward hanger mount has the applied saber dismount hook incorporated through the leather.
The belt has faint marking for the Rock Island Arsenal. Leather very good with light wear and surface crackling overall, The 1890 pattern artillery belt had a sewn standing loop on the end, and a tightening slide on the other side.
These are more scarce than the cavalry saber belts, as there far less regiments of artillery during the Indian Wars, and of those, only 2 companies were designated to be light companies.
Overall in very good – fine condition.
