Description
Created in 1903, and made at Rock Island Arsenal, these First Class Gunner’s Badges were produced from that date to 1909. R.I.A. marked the pin brooch with the unit designation and later added the the owner’s company or equipment number (used for marking all of his gear within a unit). Approximately 1700 of these were produced by the arsenal.
Numbered to the 44th Company, and personalized with the owner’s equipment No. 100 on the pin brooch.
