M1917-A1 Helmet with painted insignia of the 16th Field Artillery Regiment, 8th Infantry Division – circa 1920s -1930s.

The helmet has wear marks, scuffing and paint loss on the surface due to age and use of the helmet. The chin strap is intact, has wear and discoloration due to age and use. The leather liner is well worn in parts and one section of the leather has come undone where the original stitching held it together (see pictures).

On the front of the helmet is the 16th Field Artillery Regiment’s insignia, painted, with a few areas of wear and paint loss. Overall the image is clean, stands out and the colors are strong.

Marked inside the brim of the helmet is “ZF 220″.

The liner measures approx. 6.5″ x 8”.
