Model 1861 Colt Navy Revolver Holster – SOLD

Model 1861 Colt Navy Revolver Holster made of black bridle leather. Good leather with age crackling and wear on edges, etc.  Along the seam of the body the stitching came loose in the period and was either arsenal or post repaired, as there is a newer set of stitches just above the original. The two sides have opened and flared outward where the original stitches broke, but tight where the newer stitches hold the leather together. Black lighting show that the stitching are no way done for an extremely long time.

The leather “muscle memory” shows the shape of the Colt Navy (or Army), but when measuring the barrel length, the barrel is only capable of taking a 7 1/2 inch barrel. The plug and stitching are good, No markings at all.

A nice example.
