Modified 1885 Saber Hangers with Brass Snap Hooks – SOLD

Modified 1885 Saber Hangers with Brass Snap Hooks.  Brass hook stamped R.I.A.  The black bridle leather retains a good deal of original surface finish, with some crackling and general wear.  The hook has been modified with the long brass hook section folded back to act as a saber dismount hook.  This was done to eliminate the use of a brass slide hanger (pattern 1872) on the Model 1885 saber belts which was the standard waist belt and originally the brass slide hanger mount.
