Commemorating the British and French Alliance.
The small white Porcelain mug with blue transfer design and hand painted British and French Flags, and red on the lip and lower base, commemorates the alliance of the two nations during the Crimean War (October 1853 – February 1856). The mug is 3 1/8 inches in height. Only a small “C” marks the bottom.
Condition is fine, with one age crack that proceeds from the rim (a small repair there) to near the base in a arching line. Otherwise, the glaze, the overall wear in excellent. A great souvenir of that period.
