This Veterinarian Service Armband is the real deal, made of white wool, with applied green silk cross.  There are a series of three triple snaps units for sizing. One of the snap bases is missing.

Maker stamped, “F. KUGELMANN CO. / 124 12 JAMAICA AVE. / RICHMOND HILL, N.Y.”

Members of the Veterinarian Corps certainly saw actions in all theaters of WWII, taking care of dogs, horses, mules, and other livestock used by the military. The italian campaign probably had the most variety of animals where treatment was needed.
