Sterling Stars Belonging to Major General Stanley Hamer Ford, and the lot included a pair of his US collar insignia, and a calling card.  These stars came from a large grouping of medals, etc., being a pair extracted from several pairs in the group.

The hallmark for the stars: SHOLD-R-FORM / (MEYER LOGO), / STERLING.  Pin back with locking catch, made late 1930’s 1941. The U.S. pair are gilt with screw posts using early style clutch backs.

The card is an original piece.

Stars are 25mm point to point.

Stanley H. Ford, 1877- 1961.  He graduated from Ohio State University in 1898, and entered service as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 16th U.S. Infantry then serving in Cuba, and later in the Philippines. During WWI, he was Assistant Chief of Staff of the 84th Infantry Division, and Chief of Staff of the 27th Infantry Division. In the 1920s Ford served as Asst. Chief of Staff of the Army Intelligence Division. He attained the rank of brigadier general in 1930, and was the military attache in Paris, France, then taking command of the Philippine Department. In 1936 he was promoted to major general and took command of the 1st Infantry Division, followed by VII Corps, and VI Corps, and 2nd Army.  He retired in 1941 with the rank of Lieutenant General, having reached retirement age.
