Unusually large pitcher
This is an extremely large Sunderland orange lustre ware pitcher with several well executed nautical vignettes and one short poem of love. The height is 9 inches tall. It was made in the early Victorian period Circa 1840-60.
Restoration work has been performed on the upper throat and toward the spout and possibly inside front where the pitcher flares outward, there may have been larger stress cracks that needed attending to. The work was well done. None of the vignettes have been compromised. There is some lustre worn around the upper rim. Condition overall is very fine.
