“Uncle Sam’s Souvenir” Scarf – Featuring 5 Leading Military Leaders and President McKinley during the Spanish American War. The scarf is white silk with the black transfer of Admirals Dewey, Schley, Sampson and Generals Miles & Fitzhugh Lee.  President McKinley fills center spot.

There are 48 small snap shots (not all photographed), that accompanied the scarf, being the  Admiral Dewey & naval parade of ships up the  Delaware River Parade on October 25, and the NYC parade that occurred there on September 30, 1899. In the 48 images include the USS Texas, New Orleans, Columbus, Panther, Dixie, Topeka, Winslow, Marblehead, Mientonomah, the converted yacht Mayflower, and the Japanese battleship Kasagi.  In this 24 snap shots are I believe images of both the Philadelphia Peach Jubilee, of October 25, and the NYC parade of September 30.

Kasagi (a Japanese battleship built bay an American ship builder made for an interesting story. She was built by an American ship building co., and was finish just prior to the Philly Peace Jubilee, and with her crew boarding the day before, in a good will gesture, was allowed to be a part of the Delaware River parade. Condition of the images is very good and most are clear. Size of all range from 31/2 square to the largest 2 1/4 x 4 inches.

Approximately 18 x 18 inches.  Needs a careful ironing to remove folds, otherwise in Excellent condition.
