Description
USMC- 74th Infantry Medal Grouping for Arthur H. Cole. Cole enlisted in the US Marine Corps during WWI. The grouping has a couple of documents regarding his service in the Marines; 1921 Good Conduct certificate (no medal), and a 1927 forwarding letter awarding Cole his WWI Victory Medal and Bronze Victory Button. Two reproduced images of him in marine uniform are included (family kept original photos). After WWI, Cole enlisted in the 65th Infantry and then shortly after transferring to the 74th, were he remained for some time, becoming a part of the shooting team, (See photos for documents.
Medals include:
- Victory Medal, bronze Victory button (discharge pin), and New York state WWI service medal.
- Sharpshooter badge.
- Expert Rifleman badge.
- 1922 Silver TIFFANY & CO. State Team Small Arms Practice medal.
- Gold 74th New York Regt. Team medal with ladders beginning in 1921 to 1924. Engraved with his name on the back,
- 1922 National Match bronze medal
- 1922 era State Match -200 Yards bronze medal.
- 1922 State Match NYNG brass medal
- Good amount of copied records on shooting and enlistment records for Cole.
All items are in fine condtion.
A great lot for a Marine and National Guard veteran.
