Description

WWI Era USS Flusser, DD20, Illustrated Porcelain Plate. The USS Flusser was a Smith Class Destroyer named for Lt. Comdr. Chas. W. Flusser. Launched 20 July. 1909 at Bath, Maine, Bath Maine Iron Works.

 
During WWI had escort duty off Brest, France and the English Channel.  
 
William F. Halsey, Jr. of WWII fame, was a commander on the Flusser, 1912-1913.
 
The 8 inch plate is in excellent condition. Typical crackling to the glaze; any other flaws were in the manufacturing process.  Colors are light green and browns.
