Description
This grouping for Sergeant Louis J. Pappaceno, a B-29 crewman/ gunner, consists of his named Distinguished Flying Cross medal, Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters, pair of dog tags, 873rd BS jacket patch, along with another obtained at a much later reunion, Good Conduct and Victory medals, and three 20th AAF patches.
The wartime patch was originally sewn on a jacket, and is in very good- fine condition. The DFC was officially engraved and was incorrectly spelled. I found that this lot was sold back in 2013, and at the time there was no Air Medal but did have a pair of gunner’s wings.
A very desirable Pacific theater squadron patch in great shape with history.
Patch size is 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 inches.
