Description
WWII ID’d Army Sergeant’s Shaving Mirror – Recording Place Names & Dates.
This small, cheaply made mirror utilized 1/8 inch cardboard for the frame of the mirror, and cover, hinged with a brownish canvas tape. A hold allows the mirror to be hung at the users pleasure. It measures 2.5 x 5 inches.
Sergeant F.M. Leach, ASN 20152034, wrote the place names and dates for; New Hebrides, 10/26/41 -Guadalcanal, 3/23/43 – New Caledonia, 8/4/43. He signs his name below, on this side. The information repeats on the other side.
Once open, the mirroring effect is gone, washed or disintegrated away. I thought at first it must have been a field picture frame, but no insert for photos exists.
In excellent condition.
First of these we’ve seen.
