The Japanese canteen from WWII, used during the Korean War or was found there by a G.I. that served in Korea.
This WWII Japanese canteen may have been used during the Korean War, by North Koreans, etc. or was found there by a G.I. that served in Korea and painted the date he was there.
The canteen has some light wear, scuffing and blemishing throughout.
One side of the canteen has been painted “KOREA 51” with some decorative flowers below.
The bottom of the canteen is maker marked.
The canteen stopper has some wear and damage. It is delicate and we have not tried to remove in order to maintain the integrity and condition. The stopper has a thin sting attached to the canteen holder.
Interesting Americanized souvenir.
