Description
WWII Photograph of U.S. Army -Apache Messengers in 1941.
An Army sergeant with some Apache in uniform are seen in the photo with radios, while hanging a message to an Apache Indian in native dress. Dated July of 1941 before the U.S. entered the World War. This illustrated old method of getting the messages through would use these Native American, using their own languages to communicate over the radios. I’m sure there were more than just the Navaho Wind-talkers. A great photo!
