Description

This is a scarce beret worn by Helen Van Vlack (if I have the correct spelling), a Public Health Service nurse during WWII. This gray beret was worn when training in the Cadet Nurse’s Corps.  She was from Iowa City, Iowa.

The beret has the original U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps label with name written on it.  Size 21 1/2.

Made of gray wool with silk sweat band in a lighter shade of gray.  There is some mothing here and there, but nothing really to detract for display.

The badge is made by “BLACKINGTON- STERLING.”

Badge is 50mm high.

Condition overall is fine.

A few of Helen’s insignia is up for sale concurrently on site.
