Description
This is an assembled pair of distinctive unit insignia worn by men of the 6850th Internal Security Detachment, who were detailed to provide security for the war crimes trials at Nuremberg, Germany after the war. The DUIs are very close in appearance, and made by the same maker, L. CHR. LAUER, NUREMBERG. The marking style is different, but where certainly made in the short span of time these trails were underway.
Condition is excellent, with very little wear to the painted metal surfaces. Both have the same thumb screws on reverse.
Very scarce items. I have seen these being sold singly for nearly $300.00 a piece.
