Description

A hard item to find is this Model 1885 Mounted Light Artillery Bugler’s dress coat.  The coat has all of the 1885 General Service buttons, mounted tail facings, and herringbone chest braid.

The lining is in good condition, quartermaster markings are faint at best; and there are some initials in the left sleeve lining and on the center lining near seam.  Can’t make it out but might be “Co M …..” but no sure.

Great color and condition, with some very minor moth tracking in some areas but nearly impossible to see unless within inches.  Some of the button stitching has been redone.  Photos taken with flash and altered color to take on more of a wine color….crimson all the way on this coat!

Like the cavalry cousin, these mounted musician coats are hard to come by, and this is a great representative.

I have included an 1874 waist belt and Hagner buckle for the look only and it is not included in the purchase of the coat.
