Description
The Combat Infantryman’s Badge was authorized in 1943 for all personnel actively service in combat with infantry ground units, including special forces, and ranger units in WWII.
This badge is made of silver bullion embroidered directly to blue wool. The length is 3 inches. Theater made, and I would guess in England, as the paper backing used is similar to other insignia made in the fashion (I am not totally curtain of the English connection, yet my best guess).
Very high quality workmanship, and one of the best examples I have observed.
Does not appear to have been on uniform.
USPS Priority $4.
