Description
In photographs, and handling headgear of this era, I can’t think of an occasion where I have noticed all the appropriate Hardee hat insignia mounted together as one unit. This is the pattern 1858 insignia with four mounting loops with a battery letter “A” (not regulation), and a 1/2 inch numeral. All are placed over a black velvet material, with stiff paper backing.
The loops of the cannon insignia are lone enough to attach to the cap.
There is some mothing to the velvet in one area.
A neat piece of insignia.
