Description
Marine Night Fighter Squadron Patch – VMF (N) – 544. This is an original patch from 1944 – 1946 period, painted on canvas. The edges of the patch are machine embroidered.
This squadron trained and flew with the Grumman F6F -5N, and F6F -3N aircraft. This unit never saw combat and its linage remains singular, as it was deactivated in April of 1946.
7.5 inch wing span.
Fine condition.
A card accompanies the patch with basic information, and lists the artist as Cleon E. Raymond; and an author of Marine Corps history.
