Description
CDV Of General Samuel P. Heintzelman – Hand Tinted, and produced by J.E. McClees, Artist, Philadelphia. The image used is from a photographed, reproduced in the Civil War period by McClees. He may have done this fine tinting work on the engraved image.
General Heintzelman was a career army officer, having service in the Seminole, Mexican, and Civil Wars. He also authored several books.
This image came from the General Robert Patterson family cdv album.
