Description
CDV Of Captain Augustus Sailer 24th New Jersey Volunteers, photographed by Charles Cohill’s “Root Gallery,” Philadelphia. A clear seated view showing bullion detail on the shoulder straps.
Sailer enlisted in September of 1862, and mustered out of his company “I” on June 29, 1863. He served in the regiment during the engagements at Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville.
