Description
Late 18th Early 19th Century American military angular bayonet, made for a .69 caliber musket. It slides on and locks into the bayonet lug on the underside of the barrel. There are no markings.
The blade – 14″; socket – 2.5″; has a short fuller at the end of the blade – 4″.
Made for a contract musket, or made to fit an older French musket,
Untouched patina. Some crudeness in finish.
Very good.
