Description
Gorgeous Gilt Militia Eagle Belt Plate. This is a militia officer pattern. It is made of rolled, stamped brass with applied tongue and belt loop with both iron keepers.
Lightly scratched in on the upper edge of the plate is the name “W.W. Northern.” That needs some research obviously, by the next owner.
This pattern is identical to the one found in the reference, American Military Belt Plates Plate 154, page 103.
Excellent! Very hard to improve on this one.
