A Pristine Illustrated Company Letterhead & Postal Cover for Forehand & Wadsworth 1878 – SOLD

A Pristine Illustrated Company Letterhead & Postal Cover for Forehand & Wadsworth 1878. This letter is addressed to Ira Colby, who was an attorney from Sullivan Co., New Hampshire, very near to where D.H. Hilliard had his business in Claremont, N.H. He must have been handling this claim with F&W, since D.H. Hilliard had passed away in June of 1877, leaving unfinished business.

D.H. Hilliard (David Hall Hilliard) was a prominent 19th-century American gunsmith based in Cornish, New Hampshire. He lived from 1805 to 1877 and was widely respected for manufacturing high-quality underhammer percussion rifles and target pistols.
Both letter and illustrated cover are in fabulous condition, and important relating to well known American Firearms Companies.
