This Ike jacket was worn by a private in the 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division during the later part of WWII. It is a late war common issue quartermaster coat, contract dated April of 1945. The jacket is embellished with US made collar disks, and Meyer made pin back 10th FA distinctive insignia. The ribbon bars are WWII Victory Medal over, Good Conduct, American Campaign Medal, and EAME (European, African, Middle Eastern) Campaign Medal with one campaign star.  Over the right pocket is a Presidential Unit Citation ribbon.

Completing the jacket are the French Fourragere and the US machine made embroidered 3rd Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia. This artilleryman’s piped overseas cap is included. There are army service number markings (last 4 numbers)  inside the cap, but probably not identifiable.

Condition is excellent with only the very slightest of a few moth nips.

The 10th Field Artillery served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Southern France through to Central Europe, the latter campaign is were this soldier served with the unit in the last months of the war. Th Unit received the French Croix de Guerre with Palm as evidenced by the fourragere worn on this “Ike.”

A great, honest example for short money.
