Description
1847 Estimate of Clothing & Equipage Requested of the Recruiting Service. It lists the various recruiting stations at Frederick, Md, Philadelphia, Utica, NY, New York City, Worcester, Mass, and Schenectady, NY.
The clothing issued listed here are probably not that of the new 1847 Uniform Regulations, but from some 7 years earlier, the style worn during the Mexican War. Note the small symbols in the “Remarks” section, referring to size or patterns being issued.
