1870s Staff Major’s Shoulder Knots With A Pair of Shoulder Straps In Box, made by Horstmann Bros. Co., Philadelphia.
Brass slides on knots have Horstmann trademark, and co. name as well as on the straps stamped on the leather backing in gilt.
Shoulder straps have the staple type mounts. Gilt bullion on the knots is minimal, and showing more toning on the straps. Buttons have the same markings.
Overall a very nice set. The Japanned box bears the Horstmann seal on the cover.
