Description
1873 Springfield Bayonet & Scabbard. This socket bayonet is the standard model 1873, made for the .45/70 Springfield Breechloading Rifle. Made between 1873 – 1890.
Blued steel finish, 18 11/16 inch blade. Marked “US.”
The scabbard is blued as well. The leather frog was made late in production intended as a replacement for the worn issued types. This is marked ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1908 TC. The scabbard is a replacement scabbard with easy slip on oval clasp collar.
Bayonet and scabbard a both fine condition.
