Description
I bought this lot together some time ago, full well knowing that the fork was not “US” marked, which it should be. I is assumed that all issue utensils are so stamped, otherwise the contractor sold on the civilian market this same pattern utensils without markings. Taking this into account, I did not separate the fork out because it matches the condition of the knife similarly.
A good about of black paint or japanning remains on the handles of both. The knife measures 9 inches and the fork is 7 3/4 inches.
The scarce component in this set is the spoon with is seldom found. It shows good use, with a good deal of the tin finish having flaked away, leaving a dark patina overall. The spoon has the “US” stamping on the upper handle. It measures 7 3/4 inches approximately.
The set come with original leather scabbards for the F & K.
A complete and ready to go.
