Description
This pattern gauntlet was first issued in 1885 and remained unchanged with the exception of color, well into the 20th Century, This pair was by THE DANIEL HAYS COMPANY/ GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y./ (Contract date) 6-20-11.” Inspected by F. Quinlan, Phila. Depot. The gauntlets are marked size “9”, but in real terms are a small size and ideal for display. Don’t buy these and find they don’t fit.
Color is a light green/grayish color which is typical for the 20th century made gauntlets.
Original initials in each gauntlet, but the soldier seemed somewhat confused as to what order his initials came.
Condition is fine, with just light wear, minor staining and blemishing. All tight with great markings.
