Description
1896-1902 Medical Department Colonel’s Knots.
Full colonel’s silver bullion eagles with red cloth used for beaks highlight these nice pair of Medical Department officer’s full dress shoulder knots. They bear the Horstmann trademark on the back brass slides, and have vest sized general staff buttons.
Not normally seen, this officer had added on each knot, an 1896 pattern false embroidered Maltese cross.
Both are in very good + condition, with one of the bullion cording on one knot having been cleaned, and showing a little lighter in color, and some mothing underneath.
A scarce set of knots used between 1896 to 1902. No ID on the officer.
