Description
1899 U.S. Army Summer Pith Helmet With Chinstrap.
The contract label is washed out some but appears to be Wm. Horstmann, 1899 ?
Has the original chinstrap, many times missing from these helmets. The cork body is very good with a few small pushes, and some aged patina. The interior show wear from use, with wear to the green fabric on visor, and has a partial size label 7 1/4.
Most of these on the market are surplus from Bannerman and Stokes Kirk, but this one was issued.
