A nice enlisted cap with insignia for Co. “L” 10th Infantry.
The pattern of this cap is the 1902 for the enlisted dress uniform with the sky blue banding. The insignia applied is the pattern 1896 screwback type, for Company “L” 10th Infantry.
The interior black cotton lining of the cap is fine with exception of the sweatband which is quite dry; some sections have broken stitching by the band is still in place. (fabric glue would be the best fix for this cap). From what I can see, there is no contract markings, and along with staff buttons used to hold the chin strap, makes this a state purchase hat in my estimation.
A size “7” label.
Condition is very good- fine overall, with the blue wool body having some light tracking and a few small moth holes in very few places.
