Description
A Meyers “Rolled (Gold) Plate” collar insignia for a newly organize cavalry regiment formed in the Philippines in 1922, known as the “Philippine Scouts.” The 26th Cavalry was formed at Fort Stotsenburg, P.I. from elements of the 25th Field Artillery and 43rd Infantry regiments.
The pattern of the insignia is 1926.
Pin back with locking ring; marked, “N.S.MEYER, NEW YORK/ ROLLED PLATE.”
Plating shows some even wear, but retains an easy 70 percent gilt finish. A nice quality insignia.
Not commonly seen.
