4 Inch Colt Pocket Revolver In Fine Plus Condition.
This Colt Pocket revolver, Serial Number 189148, was made in 1861.
An really fine Colt Model 1849 Pocket revolver with a 4 inch barrel with New York City Address on the top flat. All matching numbers and retaining most of the original finish. Barrel, and cylinder blued finish; 75%+ finish on barrel, 50 +% blue on cylinder. Cylinder Stage Holdup scene is strong, all cylinder stops show wear – some more than others. Case colors on frame, lever, and hammer remain in high degrees; nearly all original case on frame, lever. The hammer case if fine plus with 60% +. The backstrap, and butt have nearly 95% of the silver plating, and the trigger guard, and inside grip is about 40%. Screws overall are in vg- fine condition, as well as the lever in regards to finish. The varnished walnut grips have nearly all of the original finish with just a few small dings, and hardly any wear.
Mechanically sound. A nice pleasing Colt made in the first year of the Civil War.
