Description

5 Button Blouse With Service In War Stripes / Marksman Buttons.  This 5 button fatigue blouse was worn by a US volunteer in the Spanish American War era. He has added his 3/4 inch service in war chevrons on the sleeves in a non-regulation manner (not sewn into the seams.  He also wears marksmanship collar buttons of the militia type, silver with black enamelling highlighting the target.

Lined with black cotton, and having two breast pockets lined with brown polished cotton inside.  A state coat with federal general service buttons.  No quartermaster markings in the sleeve lining.

There are a few tiny moth nips on the coat and some moth tracking on the left breast area, but is light and hard to see. There are some small tears on the left sleeve (see photo).  Overall a nice coat.

Fine condition for the age and a great display piece.
