C1850s Leather Shot Pouch With Double Chargers & Sling. Some say this is for powder, but looking at the fitting for the two spring loaded chargers, and allowing for age, I don’t see this being sealed sufficiently enough to keep powder from escaping. It could be for shot and ball.  Either way, never had one, looked interesting enough so here it is.

No maker names.  Brass charges, with springs, one larger than the other, held in place by single screws. Leather cavities are each 18 inches, one thicker than the other (one with the larger of the two chargers). Sling incorporated into each end and sewn, with a horseshoe shaped adjustment buckle.  Between the chargers was a leather loop that held the strap end if needed (now torn but present).

Well made, could have been made commercially or privately.

Great early hunting display piece.
