Cased Colt Pocket Revolver With All Accessories- Manufactured in 1858. An excellent Colt cased Model 1849 Pocket revolver with a 4 inch barrel with New York City Address on the top flat; Serial No. 140240. All matching numbers and retaining nearly all of the original finish. Barrel, and cylinder blued finish; 95%+ finish on barrel, 60 % blue on cylinder. Cylinder Stage Holdup scene is strong, all cylinder stops show hardly any wear. Case colors on frame, lever, and hammer remain in high degrees; nearly all original case on frame, lever. The hammer case if fine plus with 70% +. The backstrap, trigger guard, and butt have nearly 95% of the silver plating, most of which has its old dark blueish patina. Screws overall are in fine condition, as well as the lever in regards to finish. The varnished walnut grips have nearly all of the original finish with just a few small dings, and hardly any wear.
The flask has most of its original luster, and functioning spring and lever. The brass mold is marked “Colt’s Patent.” In fine shape with some dings, and patina to brass in some areas. The blued combo screwdriver and nipple wrench retains over 60% finish. The rest of the accessories in the Colt case are a japanned tin with most of the cap inside, and the original key. The round ball and conical lead has a nice oxidized patina. The walnut case is lined in red velvet, and without repair to wood, or interior. Some of the velvet is stained by years of oil and powder residue, etc.
Mechanics are excellent, and overall a most pleasing cased Colt Percussion Pocket Model Revolver.
