Description

CDV- 1st Lieutenant Charles F. Lord -8th Maine Infantry. He was a private with the 6th Massachusetts Infantry that went through Baltimore Riots on April 19th, 1861, on their way to Washington, having responded to President Abraham Lincoln’s call for volunteers to suppress the Rebellion.  He mustered out after his 3 month enlistment.  His residence at that time is listed as Lowell, Ma.

After a month home, Lord again enlisted, this time with the 8th Maine Infantry, with a commission in the company F, 8th Maine Infantry.
