CDV – 1st Lt. Francis Gilbert Ogden, 58th Mass Infantry – Killed In action at Spotsylvania Court House, Va, in May of 1864.

He enlisted as a corporal into Co. F, 24th Mass Infantry on 12/3/ 1861, and discharged on 3/8/ 1862.  Ogden was commissioned into the 48th Mass on 12/29/62, and mustered out on 9/3/63.  He was again commissioned into the 58th Mass on 11/27/63.  and was killed on 5/12/1864.  Ogden had served as Adjutant of both the 48th and the 58th Mass regiments.
