Description
CDV – Colonel Aaron Fletcher Stevens 13th New Hampshire Infantry. Colonel Stevens, from Nashua, New Hampshire, enlisted as a major on April 29, 1861 into the 1st New Hampshire Infantry, and mustered out at Concord, NH, on August 9, 1861. In September of 1862 Stevens was commissioned into the field and staff of the 13th New Hampshire Infantry as Colonel. During his service with the 13th, he was wounded at Cold Harbor, Va. on June 1, 1864, and again at Fort Harrison, Va. in September of that same year. He was discharged for disability in February of 1865, but then his discharge was suspended ten days later on the 14th of February,1865.
Stevens was brevetted brigadier general in December of 1864.
