CDV – Colonel George D. Ruggles- Aide de Camp To Several Generals SOLD

George D. Ruggles, USMA Class of 1855. Served with the 2nd U.S. Infantry on the Frontier, Forts, Ridgely, Randall, Kearny, Leavenworth, etc.  At the beginning of the Civil War, was on several staffs, and ADC to generals Pope, McClellan and Meade. Brevet brigadier general in 1865, and continued on in the regular army after the war, well into the 1880s.
