Description
CDV – Colonel Louis Palma DiCesnola 4th New York Cavalry. Born in Rivarolo, Italy in 1832. Enlisted at New York City as the colonel of the 4th NY Cavalry, and commissioned on September 11, 1862. He was wounded and taken prisoner at the Battle of Aldie, Virginia in June of 1863, and was awarded the Medal of Honor for rallying his command and charging the enemy. He was sent to Macon, Ga. and later paroled in March of 1864, at City Point, Va.

Very good condition with a crease at the center.
